Mazda Axela. 2003 to date (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1560, 1998 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. SOHC), 1349, 1498, 1598, 1999, 2261 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Mazda replaced the long-running Familia nameplate with a new-generation compact car. Based on the Ford C1 platform also underpinning the Ford Focus (C307) and Volvo C30. More Japanese flair to styling than with previous Familia, aiding sales. Very well regarded range of cars, exported as Mazda 3 (officially without a space), with Mazdaspeed sporting variants.

Manufacturing location: Hofu, Yamaguchi, Japan

Marque: Mazda | Predecessor: Mazda Familia (BJ)
