Mazda 6. 2009–13 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 2488 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 3721 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Larger replacement for Mazda Atenza (GG) in North America. One size larger than Mazda Atenza (GH) sold in Japan and the rest of the world, with 185 mm more in length to total 4,920 mm. Designed (albeit under Japanese team, with styling headed by Youichi Sato), engineered and built in North America. Mazda saw the competitiveness of the North American mid-sized market and needed to rival the Honda Inspire (CP3) (sold there as the Accord) and Toyota Camry (XV40). Ford Cyclone V6 unit offered alongside 2·5 from Japanese Atenza. Called Mazda 6 Ultra in the Middle East, where the regular Atenza is sold as the 6.

Manufacturing location: Flat Rock, Michigan, USA

Marque: Mazda | Model: Mazda 6 | Predecessor: Mazda Atenza (GG) | Successor: Mazda Atenza (GJ)
