2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.jpg

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. 2019 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 998 cm³ petrol, 998 cm³ CNG (I3 DOHC), 1197 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Third generation of Wagon R to make an appearance in India, based on Heartect platform underpinning Suzuki Swift (ZC3), Suzuki Wagon R (MH35S) and other models. Lighter and stronger than predecessor. Size-wise, the Wagon R was notably larger than the Japanese kei car version, with width growing (from the MH23S generation) 145 mm to 1,620 mm. Wheelbase up 35 mm to 2,435 mm. A 1·2 four-cylinder petrol engine was also offered, with good mid-range torque. Wide opening doors, aiding access; seven-inch infotainment screen in centre console; increased rear legroom, and decent boot space. Steering lacked feel, and not that refined, with engine noise creeping into cabin, but much improved ride.

Manufacturing location: Manesar, Haryana, India

Marque: Maruti | Model: Suzuki Wagon R | Predecessor: Suzuki Wagon R (MH23S)
