Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (NC). 2018 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door MPV. F/F, 1248, 1498 cm³ diesel, 1462 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Ertiga moves to Heartect platform, shared with Swift. Larger externally: 99 mm longer, 40 mm wider, 5 mm taller. More space inside and more upmarket. Petrol unit had to worked hard, more so when paired with the automatic, though economical—more so than previous 1·4, thanks in part to mild-hybrid functions. Larger diesel from 2019, developed in-house, initially complementing the Fiat-sourced unit, with buyers wanting extra power. Light steering, geared toward comfort, and some body roll. Ride and handling improved over predecessor.
