Revision as of 15:20, 15 July 2019Maruti Suzuki Celerio. 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 793 cm³ diesel (I2 DOHC), 998 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Maruti replaces the A-star as the segment heats up: Celerio is its response to the Hyundai i10 (IA). Fairly roomy, familiar one-litre engine, but mated to an automated manual transmission (with an electronic clutch). Really a city car with skinny tyres, good for economy but not spirited driving. Base models skimp on safety equipment, with airbags optional, and ABS optional across range in the home market. Sales suspended in the UK in 2015 after two magazines discovered brake failures while testing, while Maruti was forced to remedy the problem. Diesel from 2015. Called Cultus in Pakistan, finally replacing the second-generation model of that name.
Marque: Maruti | Predecessors: Maruti Suzuki A-star, Suzuki Cultus (AA44S)
