Mahindra Armada. 1993–2000 (prod. n/a). 5-door utility. F/R, F/A, 2498 cm³ diesel (I4 OHV). Mahindra’s attempt at civilizing the long-wheelbase Jeep CJ by adding doors and a more modern body. Ladder-frame chassis and leaf springs, with resultant terrible ride. A favourite among Indian buyers, and helped Mahindra sales go up during the early 1990s’ recession, though build quality was never that good. Nevertheless, there was the tough, off-road promise of the Jeep chassis. Peugeot diesel engine. Drum brakes, though Grand Sport had discs at the front.
Marque: Mahindra | Predecessor: Mahindra CJ | Successor: Mahindra Bolero
