MG ZS (HHR). 2004–5 (prod. 25,357 incl. Mk I). 4- and 5-door saloon. F/F, 1598, 1796 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1994 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 2497 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Ultimate development of Honda Domani (MA)-based Rovers. Dynamically, still capable, thanks to Honda’s double-wishbone front suspension, and potent with KV6 unit. Well weighted steering. Cramped compared with more modern cars—unsurprising given that it was designed for the early 1990s. Facelift made ZS more aggressive, and new fascia helped hide the car’s age.
