MG MGB GT V8. 1973–6 (prod. 2,591). 3-door coupé. F/R, 3528 cm³ (V8 OHV). After being convinced by a private conversion by Ken Costello that the ex-Buick (and now Rover) V8 could have a life in the MGB GT bodyshell, British Leyland proceeded with a production model. The car was a Q-car, with subtle V8 badging and a 125 mph top speed, but the oil crisis curtailed demand and production despite fuel economy of around 26 mpg.

Manufacturing location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England

Marque: MG | Successor: MG R V8
