MG HS. 2018 to date (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/F, F/A, 1499, 1996 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Hugely improved quality for MG’s rival to the Hyundai Tucson (JM) launched at 2018 Chengdu show. Good ride, suited to the wide variety of Chinese roads. Comfortable for rear-seat passengers thanks to generous wheelbase. Automatic gearbox not the most responsive with its shifts. Fiat 2·0 diesel shared with Jeep Compass (MP) planned for India.
