1970 Lincoln Continental.jpg

Lincoln Continental. 1970–4 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé. F/R, 460 in³ (V8 OHV). A new Continental for the 1970s, with 127-inch wheelbase and terrible gas mileage—among the worst of contemporary models. Lots of mod cons. Platform shared with lesser Ford and Mercury models for the first time, and the 460 was eventually offered to Mercury in 1972. Town Car and Town Coupé variants introduced in 1970, with vinyl roofs. Larger bumpers added 1973, lengthening the car.
