Land Rover Discovery 4. 2009–16 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/A, 2720, 2999 cm³ diesel, 2995 cm³ petrol (V6 DOHC), 5000 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Facelift for Discovery 3, called LR4 in North America. Gen III engines from Jaguar Land Rover, with 3·0 twin-turbo diesel with more power and torque, yet improved carbon dioxide emissions. V8 upgraded to five litres. Redesigned interior, looking simpler and more elegant. Revised air suspension gave the 4 more refinement. More safety equipment, along with ABS, ESP, Hill Descent Control and Terrain Response program. Land Rover promised that electronics and electrical glitches had been sorted in this model. Land Rover hit the 1,000,000 milestone for the Discovery line during the 4’s run, in 2012.
