2002 Kia Spectra Wing.jpg

Kia Spectra (FB/FB5). 2000–3 (prod. n/a). 4- and 5-door sedan. F/F, 1498 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1498, 1597, 1793 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Spectra brought together Sephia and Shuma ranges, essentially facelifted versions of those cars. Five-door called Spectra Wing in the home market. Well equipped, if the interior design was stark. Good handling, with a little body roll; DOHC units proved willing. Refinement improved over predecessors, and reasonably quiet. Ten-year or 100,000-mile warranty in US tempted buyers wanting a second car. Facelift in 2002, though this was short-lived, as the Spectra was replaced by the Hyundai-platform Cerato.

Manufacturing location: Korea

Marque: Kia | Predecessors: Kia Sephia II, Kia Shuma (B6K) | Successor: Kia Cerato
