Kia Sorento (BL/JC81). 2002–9 (prod. n/a). 5-door SUV. F/R, F/A, 2351 cm³ petrol, 2497 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 3497, 3778 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Originally conceived as the replacement for the Kia Sportage (NB-7), but wound up starting a more upscale model line. Roomy, well equipped and safe, based on contemporary crash tests. Mid-term changes in 2006, with new front and rear suspension. Body-on-frame construction with live rear axle, which allowed it to be capable off-road, but handling was one of its weak points on-road.
