In Korea, however, Kia moved the game on in 2005 with the second-generation Pride, usually exported as the Rio—a budget car, selling mostly on price. A third generation débuted in 2011, taking Kia nearer to the top of the class, with smarter looks under design boss Peter Schreyer. Separate from Kia K2, though it shares its platform.
