2006 Kia Cee’d.jpg

Kia Cee’d (ED). 2006–12 (prod. n/a). 5-door saloon, 3-door coupé, 5-door estate. F/F, 1396, 1591, 1975 cm³ petrol, 1582 cm³ diesel (I4 DOHC), 1991 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC). Miklós Kovács-led styling team in Frankfurt created the Cee’d, sharing a platform with the Kia Forte and Hyundai i30 (FD). Odd names, with Cee’d for the saloon, ProCee’d for the coupé, and Cee’d Sporty Wagon for the estate. However, the cars rode well and were dynamically competent, with only the badge getting in the way of greater success in Europe. Usually sold in European countries, though the ProCee’d was exported to South Africa to complement the Forte (badged Cerato there). Facelift shown at Frankfurt 2009; on sale soon after.

Manufacturing locations: Žilina, Slovakia; Kaliningrad, Russia

Marque: Kia | Model: Kia Cee’d | Predecessor: Kia Spectra | Successor: Kia Cee’d (JD)
