Kia Capital. 1989–96 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1498, 1798 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1498 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). Another Mazda Capella (GC)-based sedan from Kia, created to bridge the gap between the small Pride and the larger-engined, but identically bodied, Concord. Self-developed DOHC engine from 1990, with improved performance. With launch of Hyundai Elantra, Capital began looking out of place. Facelift in 1994, with addition of driver’s airbag and cancellation of 1·8-litre unit as Sephia successor took over more of Capital’s market.

Manufacturing location: Korea

Marque: Kia | Successor: Kia Sephia (1992–7)
