Sister car to Jeep Patriot, taking the Jeep brand one step further in to passenger-car territory. Essentially an urban runabout with off-road pretensions, with Jeep targeting small crossover and first-time buyers. Quieter than Patriot, thanks to less boxy shape, and ride slightly better as well. Coarse four-cylinder engines. Cabin materials a small improvement on sister car, though dynamically, Compass finds itself in the middle of the pack. Still very roomy, but not a patch on other soft-roaders such as Toyota RAV4 (XA30). Facelift for 2011.
Marque: Jeep | Model: Jeep Compass | Successor: Jeep Compass (MP)
