2007 Jaguar XK.jpg

Jaguar XK/Jaguar XKR (X150). 2006–14 (prod. n/a). 3-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 3555, 4196, 5000 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Attractive, all-new XK with aluminium monocoque chassis. While engines (regular, supercharged) were less advanced than German competition’s, light weight helped overall performance. Bonnet is “deployed” to protect pedestrians if struck, rising above a certain level. Modern styling by Ian Callum, shaking off retro style, closely related to Aluminium Lightweight Coupé concept. Entry-level 3·6-litre introduced 2007. Five-litre engine from 2009; facelift in 2011. Last car off the line in July 2014.
