2005 Jaguar XKR convertible.jpg

Jaguar XK8/Jaguar XKR. 1996–2006 (prod. unknown). 2-door coupé, 2-door convertible. F/R, 3996, 4196 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Heavily revised coupé on old XJ-S platform dating back to 1970s, but with looks from E-type and aborted XJ41 project. Coupé with protruding boot, unlike E, for the golf clubs. Excellent ride and handling. Car débuted new V8 engines, including supercharged variant, later shared with X308 saloons; engines would prove troublesome pre-2000. Considered a return to form for Jaguar at the time, but with hindsight, yet another retro-designed model.

Manufacturing location: Coventry, West Midlands, England

Marque: Jaguar | Model: Jaguar XK | Predecessor: Jaguar XJS (1991–6) | Successor: Jaguar XK (X150)
