Jaguar XE/Jaguar XEL (X760). 2014 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door saloon, 4-door LWB saloon. F/R, 1999 cm³ diesel, 1999 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC), 2995 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Taut, attractive and advanced sporting saloon, competing in the segment where the X-type failed. Cab-backward looks, more purposeful than XF. Very aerodynamic for a Jaguar (C_d 0,26), with aluminium-intensive monocoque containing recycled aluminium alloy. Débuted Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium-series engines, initially with a two-litre AJ200D diesel (considerably lighter than former Ford units); F-type supercharged V6 delivering 340 PS also available at launch. Natural-speech voice recognition and head-up laser display; electric power steering and a traction control system acting as a low-speed cruise control.
