Isuzu Bellett (PR). 1963–73 (prod. 170,737 for all PR series). 2- and 4-door sedan, 3-door wagon, 2-door coupé. F/R, 1325, 1471, 1584 cm³ petrol, 1764 cm³ diesel (I4 OHV), 1471, 1584, 1818 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1584 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Comprehensive small car range, with sport models featuring DOHC and 1·8-litre OHC units. Far more innovative than the Hillman Minx-derived model it replaced, with four-wheel independent suspension, and considered locally to be “the Japanese Alfa Romeo”. GT from 1964, GT-R with DOHC from 117 Coupé from 1969 (prod. 1,400 approx.). Simpler Bellett B, covered separately, had leaf springs at rear.
