IES Gringo. 1989–90 (prod. 5). 3-door SUV. F/A, 635 cm³ (F2 OHV). The ultimate Citroën 2CV derivative, made in Argentina, with a plastic (GRP) body from Uruguay. The SUV was based on IES’s Gringa commercial vehicles, which had gained all-wheel drive and a larger version of the horizontally opposed twin; the five-passenger Gringo made it all appear more civilized. Cancelled as IES faced financial difficulties and closed up shop.
Marque: IES
