2012 Hyundai i30.jpg

Hyundai i30 (GD). 2011 to date (prod. unknown). 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 1396, 1591 cm³ petrol, 1396, 1582 cm³ diesel (4 cyl. DOHC). Essentially the hatchback version of Avante, but developed in Rüsselsheim for European tastes. Longer, wider and lower. Hyundai’s “fluidic sculpture” design language adopted successfully, while new 1·6 diesel launched with claimed 70 mpg and 100 g/km carbon dioxide emissions. Well planned interior with better quality materials, and fairly refined, though steering on the light side. Tendency to understeer, and behind Ford Focus (C346) in handling stakes.

Manufacturing locations: Ulsan, Korea; Nošovice, Czech Republic

Marque: Hyundai | Model: Hyundai i30 | Predecessor: Hyundai i30 (FD)
