If you follow the bloodline of the “ur-Hyundai”—the original Pony—you wind up at Verna at the turn of the 21st century. Not a particularly attractive car in its first incarnation, it was roomy with good value for money. A rounder Verna came next, but Hyundai eventually went back to its Accent model name, except in China.
