Hyundai Tiburon (RD)

Hyundai Tiburon (RD). 1996–2001 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé. F/F, 1599, 1795, 1975 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Hyundai replaces the Scoupe with something more upmarket, based on the J2 Avante platform. Styling modelled after the shark. Two-litre initially, with a more tuned, 156 PS one later in 1996; 1·8 added 1997. Facelift in 1999, dubbed Tiburon Turbulence in Korea. A good handler in its day, let down by a cheap interior, which the 1999 facelift did not solve.
