Hyundai Santa Fe/Hawtai Santa Fe (SM/SB8/SQ6450W/SQ6451W). 2000–13 (prod. n/a). F/F, F/A, 1796, 1997, 2351 cm³ (I4 DOHC), 1991 cm³ diesel (I4 OHC), 2656, 3497 cm³ petrol, 2656 cm³ LPG (V6 DOHC). SUV on the Hyundai Sonata (EF) platform, a hit in North America, catching buyers near the start of the trend toward crossovers. Cheap, roomy and with a decent warranty in many markets, although its four-wheel-drive capability was poor, while the engines lacked punch. Korean production to 2005. Licensed Chinese production at Hawtai (originally Huatai) from 2006, with largely the same models, although in 2009, the SAIC (and ex-Rover) 1·8 was added to the range.

Manufacturing locations: Ulsan, Korea; Taganrog, Russia; Rongcheng, Shandong, China

Marque: Hyundai | Model: Hyundai Santa Fe | Successors: Hyundai Santa Fe (CM), Hawtai Santa Fe (2014–)
