1970 Humber Sceptre.jpg

Humber Sceptre (Arrow). 1967–76 (prod. 43,951). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1725 cm³ (I4 OHV). Luxury version of Arrow, with four round headlamps and high level of standard equipment, but similar to Hillman Hunter overall. Monocoque construction, a first for Rootes. Developed without Chrysler involvement. Estate (from 1974) featured a rear wiper, a rarity in the mid-1970s. Laycock overdrive, and acceptable performance. Usual Humber virtues of refinement, especially compared with lesser Arrows. Last Humber car. Exported to some markets as Sunbeam Sceptre.

Manufacturing locations: Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, England; Linwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland

Marque: Humber | Model: Humber Sceptre | Predecessor: Humber Sceptre Mk II
