Honda S660 (JW5). 2015–22 (prod. n/a). 2-door convertible. M/R, 658 cm³ (I3 DOHC). Honda discovers its sporty groove with a kei roadster in the mould of the 1990s’ Beat. Styled by Ryo Mukumoto, S660 gained plenty of press for Honda, and there was a three-month waiting list at launch in March 2015. Concept first shown in 2013. The mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive layout and new platform had a lack of commonality with Honda’s other front-wheel-drive kei cars, limiting the numbers on the shared production lines at Yachiyo. Engine related to that in Honda N Box (JF1), and turbocharged. Alpha and Beta trims initially, with Alpha the more upmarket.
