Honda Prelude (BB5/BB6/BB7/BB8). 1996–2000 (prod. 13,924 sold in Japan). 2-door coupé. F/F, 1997, 2156 cm³ (I4 OHC), 2157 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Gone were the sporting looks of the fourth generation, in favour of something more conservative—some might say too conservative. Four-wheel steering still available. Refined with excellent handling and build quality, but four-cylinder units were never as good as the competition’s sixes. Production ceased August 2000, though sales continued into mid-2001. Honda cancelled the Prelude as the Integra became its main sporting entry.
Marque: Honda | Model: Honda Prelude | Predecessor: Honda Prelude (BA8) | Successor: Honda Integra (2001–6)
