1988 Honda Prelude.jpg

Honda Prelude (BA4/BA5/BA7). 1987–91 (prod. n/a). 2-door coupé. F/F, 1958 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1958, 2056 cm³ (I4 DOHC). The Prelude with the highest profile, best remembered for being the first mass-production car with four-wheel steering, and, in Australia, winning Wheels’ Car of the Year award in Australia in 1988. Helped Honda’s image as an innovator. Evolutionary styling, smoothing out the previous model’s lines, giving a Cd of 0,34. Prelude INX introduced in 1989, with a more formal front end, featuring fixed headlights. Bored-out 2·1 for export initially, though the wider body and this engine made it to the Japanese domestic market in 1990 for 3,000 units, called the Prelude SiStates, with 4WS, ABS, limited-slip differential, and additional interior equipment.

Manufacturing location: Sayama, Japan

Marque: Honda | Model: Honda Prelude | Predecessor: Honda Prelude (AB) | Successor: Honda Prelude (BA8)
