Honda CR-X del Sol.jpg

Honda CR-X del Sol (EG1/EG2/EH6). 1992–7 (prod. n/a). 2-door targa. F/F, 1493, 1590 cm³ (I4 OHC), 1595 cm³ (I4 DOHC). CR-X reinvented for the 1990s with steel hardtop electrically retracting into boot. Lesser models with lighter aluminium roof, removable manually. Poor cargo room thanks to the configuration. Mid-term revisions 1995. A belief that CR-X conflicted with the Civic coupé saw to its deletion in 1997. Good acceleration from VTEC models and an able handler, thanks to double-wishbone suspension all round. Very good fuel economy thanks to Civic basis; however, CR-X suffered from noise. Exported to some markets as Civic del Sol. Not directly replaced till CR-Z in 2010.

Manufacturing location: Japan

Marque: Honda | Model: Honda CR-X | Predecessor: Honda CR-X (EF6) | Successor: Honda CR-Z
