Holden Statesman (VS). 1995–9 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/R, 3781 cm³ (V6 OHV), 4987 cm³ (V8 OHV). Improved build quality and equipment levels as Holden fended off foreign competition; Ecotec V6 (147 kW) introduced with better fuel economy than before. Supercharged V6 offered 165 kW from the Series II update in 1996 along with 16-inch alloy wheels and self-levelling suspension, and cosmetic changes foreshadowing WH; V8 had 168 kW. Macpherson struts at front, semi-trailing independent rear suspension; ABS and traction control. Series III from 1998, with minor cosmetic changes.
