Holden Monaro (VX). 2001–4 (prod. unknown). 2-door coupé. F/R, 3791 supercharged (V6), 5665 (V8) cm³. After a design study at the Sydney Motor Show in 1998—which itself was an unofficial project done by Holden staff in their spare time—the Monaro emerged in 2001, based on the VX Commodore. Revised dashboard from VY Commodore in 2003, officially the Series 2. V6 models ended production in 2004 and not replaced; V8s continued into VZ or Series 3. Exported as Chevrolet Lumina Coupé, Pontiac GTO and Vauxhall Monaro.
