Holden GTS (HX).jpg

Holden Monaro (HX). 1976–7 (prod. n/a for 4-door; 580 LE coupé). 2-door coupé, 4-door sedan. F/R, 4142, 5044 cm³ (V8). Although no Monaro badges appeared on the HXs, the brochures marketed the four-door Holden GTS as a Monaro. The LE coupé was a way of using up the last two-door shells: while they had the squared-off front end of the HX, they had the more dated tail end of the HQ. The HX was launched in July 1976 to meet ever-stricter pollution laws in Australia; it was quickly replaced by the HZ in 1977.

Manufacturing locations: Pagewood, NSW, Australia (LE); Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; Dandenong, Victoria, Australia; Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Monaro | Predecessor: Holden Monaro (HJ) | Successor: Holden Monaro (HZ)
