Although no Monaro badges appeared on the HXs, the brochures marketed the four-door Holden GTS as a Monaro. The LE coupé was a way of using up the last two-door shells: while they had the squared-off front end of the HX, they had the more dated tail end of the HQ. The HX was launched in July 1976 to meet ever-stricter pollution laws in Australia; it was quickly replaced by the HZ in 1977.
Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Monaro | Predecessor: Holden Monaro (HJ) | Successor: Holden GTS (HZ)
