Holden Monaro (HQ). 1971–4 (prod. 8,945). 2-door coupé, 4-door sedan. F/R, 173, 202 in³ (I6 OHV), 253, 308, 350 in³ (V8 OHV). The most well regarded HQ line. All-new Monaro, with addition of luxury model (LS, with quad headlamps) and, from 1973, four-door GTS based on standard sedan bodyshell. LS and GTS could be optioned with 350 in³ V8; only base coupé had 173 in³, extending to 308 in³. All-new rear suspension, flow-through ventilation. Rear lights in bumper, apeing period Pontiacs.
