Holden Commodore SLE (VC).jpg

Holden Commodore (VC). 1980–1 (prod. 121,807). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/R, 1892 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV), 2838, 3298 cm³ (6 cyl. OHV), 4142, 5044 cm³ (V8 OHV). Improvements to VB saw VC in 1980. First Peter Brock HDT sporting Commodore made from this series. Redesigned engines. Addition of 1892 cm³ Starfire unit to create Commodore Four in fuel crisis-hit Australia, which was a marketing success if not an engineering one—car was underpowered. Holden suffered as Ford introduced alloy heads for its XD Falcon, a larger car but with reasonable fuel economy.
