Holden Belmont (HK). 1968–9 (prod. 199,039 all HK). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon, 2-door utility, 2-door panel van. F/R, 161, 186 in³ (I6 OHV). Holden must have felt it quaint to refer to its models as Standard and Special; in 1968, in came Belmont and Kingswood. HK series a step forward but its looks awkward: the story was that the car was meant to be smaller but was lengthened at the eleventh hour to match the Ford Falcon’s greater dimensions. Energy-absorbing steering column and dual-circuit braking system introduced on this model.
Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Belmont | Predecessor: Holden (HR) | Successor: Holden Belmont (HT) q.v. Holden Kingswood (HK), Holden Premier (HK), Holden Brougham (HK)
