Holden Apollo Wagon (JL).jpg

Holden Apollo (JM/JP). 1993–7 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 2164 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC), 2959 cm³ (V6 DOHC). Toyota Scepter (XV10) with sheetmetal differences compared with Australian Camry, made by Toyota Australia for Holden, as part of the government-mandated Button plan of model-sharing. Smooth engines as with Toyota, but outsold by Toyota equivalents (called Camry and Vienta in Australia). Dull in terms of styling and driving pleasure, but as with predecessor, dependable and competent. Mid-term changes in 1995 to JP series, with smaller range.

Manufacturing location: Altona, Victoria, Australia

Marque: Holden | Model: Holden Apollo | Predecessor: Holden Apollo (1989–93) | Successor: Opel Vectra B
