1969 Hillman Minx.jpg

Hillman Minx (New Minx). 1967–70 (prod. 470,000 approx. all types, incl. Hunter). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1496, 1725 cm³ (4 cyl. OHV). Basic Arrow with Hillman Hunter bodyshell and smaller 1·5-litre engine and no overdrive, larger engine optional on estate. Absorbed into Hunter range (as Hunter de Luxe) at the turn of the decade. Not tremendously inspiring; notable for the last appearance of long-running Minx name, which began its run in 1932. Early Australian-assembled models were called Hillman Arrow (HB series), but the Hunter name was adopted in 1969 for the mid-term HC series.
