Continuation of the Changcheng Hover H5, which had been in production in various forms since 2005, with a new marque. Toyota chassis and Mitsubishi petrol engines, with the base units (90 kW and 100 kW) woefully underpowered. Turbocharger helped boost this, but H5 remained largely unrefined with cabin noise and vague steering. Changcheng’s own two-litre turbodiesel became available on the home market in 2014 for the 2015 model year. More capable than some SUVs off-road.
Marque: Haval | Model: Haval H5 | Predecessor: Changcheng Hover H5 | Successor: Haval H5 (2023–)
