Glas 2600 V8. 1966–8 (prod. 718). 2-door coupé. F/R, 2562 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Glas goes for the top end, introducing a Pietro Frua-styled grand tourer that was soon nicknamed the ‘Glaserati’ because of its similarity to the Maserati Quattroporte I, from the same designer. Engine related to four-cylinder Glas unit and good for 150 PS (168 PS SAE); parts’ bin raided for the rest of the car (e.g. Setra bus headlights, Mercedes-Benz window-winder mechanism, and Porsche door locks).
