Genesis EQ900. 2015–18 (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan, 4-door LWB sedan. F/R, F/A, 3342, 3778 cm³ (V6 DOHC), 5038 cm³ (V8 DOHC). Genesis’s flagship, showing that Hyundai was now confident delivering a BMW 7er-Reihe (F01) competitor. However, the interior quality wasn’t quite there: plastics used instead of metal, and leather not up to the same standard. Excellent rear space and refinement; steering could use more feel. EQ in name meant to recall Hyundai Equus. Exported as Genesis G90, with overseas markets following the domestic one in adopting Genesis as the marque. EQ900L denoted long-wheelbase model. Mid-term revisions in 2018, when Genesis adopted the G90 nameplate for the home market as well. Shared platform with Kia K9 (RJ).
