Geely King Kong Hatchback (吉利金剛兩廂/吉利金刚两厢)/Geely New Meiri. 2014–16 (prod. n/a). 5-door sedan. F/F, 1498 cm³ (I4 DOHC). Geely’s decision to axe the Englon brand was well timed for the SC5, as it was undergoing a facelift for 2014 anyway. The SC5 became part of the King Kong range, giving it two hatchbacks—the squarer one was named the Cross, the faux off-road variant. More conventional grille and black trim outside for Hatchback compared with SC5; more brushed metal finishes and chrome inside. Engine with variable valve timing, and slight fuel economy improvements, mated to basic five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearboxes. Renamed the Geely New Meiri briefly before it was axed. Exported as GC5-RV.
