On BMA platform, related to Geely Binyue, but differently tuned. Designed with input from all five Geely design centres, with exterior done by the Californian studio, and interior by the Barcelona studio; and put together in Shanghai. Dual 10¼-inch displays for dashboard and centre console; air purification system, allaying fears over the coronavirus in China at the time of the Icon’s February 2020 launch. Semi-autonomous driving (level 2 plus), with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian recognition among safety features. Mild hybrid system, helping with power delivery. Light steering, useful for urban usage. Intelligent seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Excellent brakes. Some road noise.
