Geely Haoqing (CJB6360/CJB6410/JL6360/JL7101/JL7131/HQ7100/HQ7130). 1998–2008 (prod. unknown). 4- and 5-door sedan, 5-door wagon. F/F, 993 cm³ (3 cyl. OHC), 1046 cm³ (4 cyl. OHC), 1342 cm³ (4 cyl. DOHC). First Geely car, based on Xiali TJ730, which in turn was based on Daihatsu Charade (G100). Faux Mercedes-Benz grille to signal prestige for mainland Chinese buyers getting in to cars for the first time. Toyota-derived engine initially. Not the best when it came to quality and for years, Geely’s worst in this respect. Facelift c. 2004 for a smoother, less pretentious front end.

Manufacturing location: Zhejiang, China

Marque: Geely | Successor: Geely Panda
