GAC Trumpchi (廣汽 傳祺/广汽 传祺/GAC 7180)/GAC Trumpchi GA5. 2010 to date (prod. n/a). 4-door sedan. F/F, 1000 cm³ petrol–electric hybrid, 1595, 1751, 1969 cm³ petrol (I4 DOHC). Trumpchi was developed by Guangzhou-based car firm, formerly connected with Honda, Toyota and Fiat. Contemporary, if a little staid, in appearance. First cars off the production line in November 2010 and on lots by December. Based around the Alfa Romeo 166, with Fiat Twin Spark engine. Premium pricing among Chinese brands. Reasonably good handling (double wishbones at front, multi-link independent suspension at rear) but with noticeable body roll; willing performance when paired with manual gearbox, but auto more sluggish. GA5 designation added later, as was 1·8-litre four, after GAC decided to call its additional models Trumpchi. Turbo 1·6 from 2014, as well as the 92 kW 1·0 hybrid with a 13 kWh battery.

Manufacturing location: Guangzhou, China

Marque: GAC | Model: GAC Trumpchi
