Ford Zephyr (211E/213E/214E). 1962–6 (prod. 106,810 for 4; 105,256 for 6). 4-door saloon, 5-door estate. F/R, 1703 cm³ (I4 OHV), 2553 cm³ (I6 OHV). Same basic chassis design with many carryover components, but appeared larger (1½ in longer, though 5 in lower) and more contemporary. Styled by Roy Brown. Four-cylinder from previous Consul; six from Zephyr Mk II, though with an extra 20 hp. Four-speed gearbox with synchromesh on all forward ratios on the 6. Different grilles on 4 (211E) and 6 (213E): the former with a small grille between two lights; the latter with a full-width design, separated in the centre. Estates converted by E. D. Abbott of Farnham.
