Ford Windstar (WIN88). 1995–8 (prod. n/a). 4-door MPV. F/F, 2986, 3797 cm³ (V6 OHV). Ford replaces its Aerostar with a more car-like minivan, beating the new Chryslers to the market. Anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, seven-passenger seating and integrated child seat standard. No driver’s-side rear door, which became a sore point for buyers. OHV V6s considered good in their day, especially when the 3·8 power was boosted from 155 to 200 hp in 1996, and interior roomy compared with contemporary rivals.

Manufacturing location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Marque: Ford | Model: Ford Windstar | Predecessor: Ford Aerostar | Successor: Ford Windstar (1999–2003)
