Booted Escort, though positioned slightly above its hatchback counterpart, hence the different name. Targeted a traditional buyer who might not have liked the Escort and Sierra hatchbacks. Similar concept to Volkswagen Jetta Mk II. Higher-spec models only for this first outing.
